We started 2024 with our heads held high, ready to grow together, make a positive difference, and take on new challenges. And there were plenty of challenges!

As we enter 2025 filled with hope, let’s revisit the highlights of the past year, which was full of accomplishments that united us and helped us grow both individually and collectively.

Our impact in numbers

Every day, our actions and decisions are guided by our ambition to have a net positive impact on children and teachers around the world.

By the end of 2024, we had released 2,493 units, reaching over 1.25 million children around the globe. People used our systems more, too; we recorded 173,275 hours of use last year alone, marking a 7% increase.

A growing team

We welcomed 11 new talents to the team in 2024, including Valérie, our new General Director, who brought a wealth of professional experience with her from the moment she arrived in June.

We also developed our roadmap and reviewed our team members’ job descriptions, allowing us to better identify our needs and make sure everyone was exactly where they needed to be. Our big takeaway? We are—and must continue to be—flexible, resilient, and persevering in order to succeed together.

Added value for our users

Our team was especially proud to deliver an impressive amount of new content and resources. Among other things, we:

  • Overhauled the Lücademy and added new training modules
  • Updated the Lü+ offering, providing even more value for our premium subscribers
  • Developed and released over 200 activity plans, essential resources for physical education lesson planning
  • Created over 100 unique pieces of content in the Lü Community thanks to our education team
  • Published a wide range of educational blog articles on our website

We also worked hard on the user experience to help bring this content to life. New features were added, the software architecture and browsing experience were improved, and a great deal of optimization and performance work was done.

We are just as grateful to our users, who have an unquenchable thirst for Lü:

  • Our users launch 90,000 activities every month on average.
  • In October, we even set an annual record with 150,489 activities launched. That’s a lot of fun!
  • Nearly 500 new pieces of content are created every month in the Lü Community.

In addition, extensive interdepartmental collaboration enabled us to develop applications that meet the standards of leading physical education programs, as well as offer on-site training at industry events.

Speaking of training, our team held more than 150 courses online in 2024. Thanks to new onboarding and follow-up processes, and despite a 130% increase in support tickets, our customer satisfaction score remains a solid 92%.

The return of the Lü Championship

One of the highlights of the year! For the first time, we launched a brand-new application, Däsh, just in time for this annual event. And what a success it was!

In addition to ranking in the top 10 applications in the first week of its launch, we saw a record number of participants. More than 1,700 teams from over 80 schools in 10 countries around the world took up the challenge this year. The growing interest in this tournament continues to impress us!

An enhanced catalog of applications

Speaking of new applications, our team pulled out all the stops! As well as delivering Däsh in time for the Championship, we launched two new applications: Fixit, in June, and Quëst, in October. We also redesigned two of our favorite applications, Target and Wäk, and released an update for Beep.

A Guinness-worthy record

On the production side, no fewer than 522 units were manufactured in 2024, including 423 Üno units and 101 Möbil units.

And even during the summer holidays, our colleagues were breaking their own records in the shop. It was Alex who shattered the old record, completing 25 ABS fascias (in layperson’s terms, the plastic shells on the modules) in a single day! He dethroned the former champion, Denis, who had a record of 18.

Go, champ!

New stamps on our passport

We got the chance to do some globetrotting in 2024! We participated in major industry events like SHAPE, TCEA, Bett, and ISTE (and organized the famous ISTE Run!). Our proudest moment was undoubtedly our first time visiting Latin America, at Edutechnia in Colombia.

January also marked our arrival in a brand-new market: Dubai! In Europe, we also celebrated an important milestone: 500 units have now been released in 23 countries across the continent. And the cherry on top? Welcoming our first U.S.-based colleague. Bienvenue, Angela!

A presence in the industry

All these efforts didn’t go unnoticed. Lü truly stood out in the industry over the past year. Here are a few achievements that have made us proud:

  • 49th place in Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50
  • 281st place among the fastest-growing companies in North America by Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500
  • Finalist for District Administration’s Top EdTech Products award—we can’t wait to see the results!
  • Appointment of our founder and CEO, Vincent Routhier, to the head of the Edteq Association

Never forget the fun!

All these wonderful achievements have only been possible because we’ve also learned when and how to unwind.

From organizing a new running club to bowling strikes at the Christmas party, we’ve made a point of getting together several times a year to get moving, celebrate, and, above all, have fun as a group.

A different kind of commitment

In 2024, it did us good to do good. Here are just a few of the initiatives we took to give back to our community:

  • We donated $10,000 to an outdoor playground at the Centre d’hébergement Sacré-Cœur, which opened this year

Speaking of donations, we also:

  • Donated school supplies to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul at the start of the school year
  • Donated to the Course des Pères Noël, a festive Santa Claus race 100% benefiting the Fondation Petits bonheurs d’école
  • Donated clothing and accessories to the YWCA Quebec Ecoboutique to support women in need
  • Thanks to our investment in educational carbon credits from Carbone Scol’ERE, we offset all our 2023 travel-related GHG emissions

Our colleagues also benefited from our generous bank of volunteer hours to get involved in causes close to their hearts like the Beneva Quebec City Marathon, the clean-up of the riverbanks and our neighborhood, Operation Red Nose, and the Saint-Roch YMCA, to name but a few.

Finally, our participation in the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie allowed ten of our colleagues to join one of our two teams, each of which cycled 1,000 km over three days. It was no small feat, requiring a great deal of training, perseverance, and teamwork. Thanks to the donations raised, we donated two Üno systems to the St-François and Saint-Fidèle schools.

New year, new look

To cap off the year, the team worked long and hard on the launch of a new brand image. The redesign encompasses a reimagined visual identity, a renewed brand vision and expression, and an updated positioning and value proposition. An ambitious project that will officially come to life in 2025!

By asserting our identity, extending our global reach, and drawing on ever richer and more accurate data, we are moving closer to our vision of transforming the learning experience for as many children as possible around the world.
