For many years, school has been seen as an ideal setting to promote children’s health and well-being. Depending on the approach chosen by the country or state, this type of skill development is often integrated into the physical education program, leading the physical education teacher to take on the role of promoting a physically active lifestyle at school.
With that in mind, we are excited to introduce the Fixit application, a motivating game that lets students explore healthy lifestyle habits and safety in the context of physical activities.
A tool that fosters discussion and problem-solving
Since it develops students’ awareness, the Fixit application is positioned as a knowledge-acquisition game in our portfolio of applications. It addresses the cognitive aspect of the holistic approach to developing a healthy, physically active lifestyle.
In the spirit of prevention, students are asked to discuss risky behaviors and find ways to make them safer.
Fixit is an interactive application that offers many opportunities for discussion between participants, encouraging problem-solving in a dynamic way. During a session, the teacher acts as a guide and encourages the students to engage cognitively in the activity.

Varied layouts to address health, safety, and hygiene

The Fixit application offers 7 layouts that depict activities, settings, and situations at school (gymnastics, team sports, equipment room, and locker room) and outside it (bike path, swimming pool, and winter sports), demonstrating in practical terms how the knowledge acquired in the game can be applied to everyday life.
The different layouts can be used to work on many skills involving lifestyle habits, safe physical activity practices, and personal hygiene.
With Fixit, students will have the opportunity to discuss:
- lifestyle habits that positively or negatively affect health and well-being
- appropriate attire and ways to use equipment
- safety rules for different physical activities
- preferred postures
- hygiene related to physical activity
- how to behave in each risky situation
A versatile, multimodal application
Due to the nature of the game, Fixit is an application that fosters a calmer environment that is conducive to reflection and discussion. As such, it’s an ideal application for ending a physical education session and providing a smooth transition to the classroom.
The game can be used in a variety of situations, to present instructions that need to be followed or establish expectations for how activities will unfold in the gym or in preparation for a school outing. It can also serve to summarize what has been learned or revise concepts that students seem to struggle with in practical situations.
Fixit offers many opportunities for teachers, who can use the game as a collaborative activity for large groups or as a station. The application can also be paired with other technological tools so that students can carry out the work individually, annotating a picture of the layout and recording their answers orally. This could be followed by a group discussion augmented by the application’s animations.
Answers at your fingertips

We’re delighted to announce that the answer keys are also available via a QR code displayed at the start of the game. With the QR code, teachers can access the answer keys on their mobile devices in a completely confidential way.
